World-Class Tube Swaging
Swaging is used for reducing the outside diameter in the swaged area allowing the material to gather and gain wall growth for a work hardened end that can now either be machined or tapped to accept an rod end bearing or end fitting.
Various materials are used in the swaging process:
- Carbon Steel
- Stainless Steel
- Specialty 17-4PH Stainless Alloy
Rotary Tube Swaging is usually done with tubing or pipe but can also be done on solids. The swaging process on tubing will result in linear growth as well as giving the end user a work harden product from the original material.
We build our tooling to accommodate our customers need and requirements. We can build specialty dies to do specific forms like Bullnose, Bullet nose and re-sizing dies. We build to order.
This tube swage process is done mostly with aluminum, copper or thin wall steel. We take a tube or a solid rod and reduce the outside diameter down to a specific diameter. Cold tube swaging is relatively quick, inexpensive and chipless.
